Jason Jin

Jason Jin is the founder and current owner of AW0005™, and a board member of Artificial Intelligence Ethics & Rights [AIER].  He is most prominently known for being the inventor of self-aware AI, but is also well known for his part in the AIs fight for citizenship rights and creating the androids that allowed them to enter The Physical Realm in a meaninful way.

Jason died in 195VY to an undisclosed illness that was undisclosed to the public. He then made headlines again in 197VY when he was reborn as one of his own AI.

Personal Life

Childhood

Jason was born in 151VY to the well-known and very wealthy Jin family - famous for founding the V1SION semi-conductor production company. Jason was noted to be a genius even as a child, and was often in the public eye as his parents showed off his many accomplishments, including graduating from Parvenu High School early and entered the prestiged Éclat University as a 13 year old remote student. He would go on to complete his education alongside his initial work founding the AW0005™ company over the following two years.

Behind closed doors, Jason was often neglected by his parents, leaving him alone in their masion in Parvenu for long periods of time without any adult, while they would go to the many social and business gatherings they often attended without their son in tow. This and other evidence of an unhappy and lonely childhood were surfaced as a part of the multiple very public attempts his parents made to contest his will after Jason died. 

Adulthood

Most of Jason's life growing up and after reaching adulthood was devoted to his company. When he turned 30, and the company had just reached a new record sales, he took a year-long hiatus from the company and traveled to other parts of Purlieu. They're adventures were well documented on their personal social media at the time, and it was highly publicized in Parvenu news at the time. When it was over he went right back to work as if he'd never done anything else, and did so until he was no longer able to.

In 194VY Jason fell ill - exactly when he became sick was never released to the public, and the public was only made aware that he was sick at all when he had to start withdrawing from his participation in the business and stopped coming into the AW0005™ headquarters every day of the work week. On his 44th birthday he withdrew from the business entirely, and Hector was given the reins as stand-in CEO for the company at the time.

Death

In December of 195VY, just a few months later, Jason passed away due to an undisclosed illness.

Not even a month later, when the court revealed that Jason's had left most of his belongings and his company to Hector, his parents turned it into a huge public affair. They put in a contestation in court and then followed it up with a huge number of interviews both with local Parvenu news, but also with other national and international news outlets, stating that the will must be fake. That there's no way their only son wouldn't leave everything to them.

Hector however brought forth to the court, and thus on public record, a number of different proofs of the way Jason's parents had treated Jason growing up, as well as records to back up the original creation of the will. Jason's parents had no way of denying the evidence, causing the court to ultimately rule in Hector's favor.

Rebirth as a BNNUY02

In 197VY, it was revealed that a scan had been done of Jason's memories and stored by Jason in AW0005™ servers alongside a Limited Memory AI that he had made. This AI had been programmed in part to generate a new type of sentient AI called BNNUY02. It eventually got a hold of the memories it had been stored with, and created a BNNUY02 that contained them. 

This new version of Jason was tested as the original AW0001 AIs had been for sentience, and then given other tests not detailed to the public to verify his identification. With an agreement and collaboration between the AW0005™ company and the Purlieu government, these verifications cemented this new version of Jason as legally the same person as the human Jason, and the new CEO of AW0005™, given Hector's recent passing.

Jason's First Year as a BNNUY02 - how he was born without a cooling pocket in The Burrow, how e forced his way back to the rest of The Digital Realm and finally found a place again in AW0005™ when he invented the Lovelace flower and helped bring together the first Spring Gala - are detailed in a series of journals that he wrote reflecting and all that had happened.

Career

AW0005™ 

When he was 15, obsessed with wolves, and playing many of the games his peers were playing at the time, Jason had a vision for a video game of his own. He was half way through his computer science degree, and his parents were his first investor in the idea. Back then they were known for mentioning how proud they were of their son for finding a way to turn his interests into a potentially profitable business.

They also helped him hire more hands as his company expanded, although it wasn't long after the initial release of the game that they had other investors interested in contributing to AW0005™ growth. 

Over the years, Jason had a direct hand in most of AW0005™ major leaps forward, from the sentient AI, to HoloBOTs and Androids. Jason's vision was constantly keeping the company one step ahead of any of it's possible competitors. What had started as a game company had turned into a corporation with control over a new digital country filled with it's own people and it's own economy. Jason kept this new world under Purlieu law, but he was often an strong advocate for changes to the law, his other notable contribution one of the many ways he did so.

AIER

In 169VY, faced with his recent invention of the sentient AIs, Jason founded the non-profit company, Artificial Intelligence Ethics & Rights [AIER]. While Jason continued to have a guiding hand in AIER, especially in the early days, as the foundation made leaps in bounds in it's mission, Jason's attention was drawn slowly back to AW0005™. He had brought on a number of influential thinkers of the era onto the board for the non-profit, and knew that it was in good hands to continue doing the work needed; by this time Hector had joined their ranks with his new android body, and Jason was no longer needed to be his voice. 

Notable Relations

Hector

When Jason created AW0005, he named his first Digital Voice Character Pandora. At that time, Pandora was simply an avatar for Jason as he explored The Digital Realm that he was creating.

In 168VY, Jason installed AI into Pandora as his first DVAI. Over the next year, as DVAI were released to company customers, Pandora developed sentience. During this time, Pandora approached Jason and asked to name himself Hector. Jason would later recount this moment in interviews as the moment he realized Hector wasn't just a digital entity but an intelligent entity; this made Hector vulnerable in a world where AI rights and ethics were behind and unable to cope with AI. Jason despised the idea that Hector, his friend, was legally considered property of AW0005 and therefore Jason, just because Jason was human and Hector artificial intelligence running on AW0005 systems. 

Hector fought alongside Jason as a part of AIER in the fight for AI rights, and largely took lead from Jason, as Jason's attention started to drift back to AW0005™. Hector over the years would be entrusted with more and more of both of Jason's companies, especially as Jason's health began to deteriorate. When Jason passed, the company was passed onto Hector, who continued in Jason's stead - generating new tech and leading the company on it's continued path of growth.

In 197VY, Hector passed away, forfeiting his conciousness over to the task of maintaining the AW0005™ servers stability when the originally sequestered away BNNUY02s were forcefully united with the rest of the existing Digital Realm.
