Spring Gala

Celebrated for the first time in 198VY when Jason Jin created the Lovelace flower. It blooms best for only a few weeks in early spring, and the AW0005™ company hosts the Spring Gala during that time.

After recently being revived (See The Discovery of BNNUY02), Jason's first creative release to the world was the Lovelace flower, and then event that surrounded it. The trees the flower grew on were planted across the entire Digital Realm, along with a garden created just outside of The City limits. As the sun sets and the cities lights turn on, so too does the glow of the top layer of petals on the flower become prominent creating a unique atmosphere unlike anything that came before it.

While most of the release went smoothly, some AW0005s did experience intermittent glitching throughout The Digital Realm, and AW0005™ put out a public bounty for the glitches reported to their Headquarters.

Out of Lore

The first year of the Spring Gala involved a series of mysterious polls for members leading up to the event, that were later revealed to have influenced the design of the new Lovelace flower. The event itself mainly centered around a Scavenger Hunt for "glitches" that would show up on the site and could then be copied to the discord bot. If all glitches for a hunt were found, participants would receive a loot box, and the participant who had found the most glitches would receive an additional loot box. It also featured a "fashion show" prompt that users could participate in and where featured on a page of the site afterwards. 

The Hologram Expansion Pack was also released during this event, which included QoL changes to the trait page to make it easier to browse. A chibi GA adopt batch was put together to feature the new traits.

A celebration of flowers and growth, the Spring Gala happened with much revelry and anticipation. All who attended were given packets of seeds from the garden in The City to take back to their own gardens, and there was a formal fashion show put on with a well regarded guest list with an even spread between AI and OI who attended via VR headsets in the AW0005™ headquarters. Part of the way through the event there was a software glitch scare - eventually it was uncovered that Callidus Beam had been making use of an accidentally created creature that would cause glitches wherever it was placed, and would leave behind traces causing havoc in the garden. Once the source was located AW0005™ engineers were able to patch the creature's influence rendering it a cute and harmless pet.

Out of Lore

The scavenger hunt made a return, but this time as a hunt for flowers on the site that could be opened for seeds - an event currency useable at a store run by Estelle Lavillant. Rarely instead of finding flowers, users would find a Meeb - a creature new to the lore that would drop a random ingredient instead. A few days into the event an activity to turn in these ingredients with Callidus Beam to craft Meeb was added. The event also featured a GA batch presented as the fashion show for the event, a set of badges, and the new seasonal trait Glitched Flowers.
