Digiterra

The newest district, it is simultaneously the center of attention, and looked over - as eyes turn instead to the large gate that it has sprung up alongside. With its location the town sees a lot of traffic as people pass through the gate in either direction. Many stay in the town only overnight but some may stay for longer. It also is the only location in The Digital Realm with a nearly 50/50 population of AW0001 and BNNUY02.

History

In 197VY The Discovery of BNNUY02 occurred and a gate opened in a large field on the western bank of The Burrow. The side of the gate in The Core was in an already high traffic area, and so those who gravitated to the gate found themselves settling in tents in the wide space available on the other side. 

With the AW0005™ companies' interest in the new area, they quickly assigned engineers - who then worked with BNNUY02 representatives, to quickly build out a town with houses and apartments available for those who wished to stay in the area. Few at this time would call themselves permanent residents but many news reporters, nomadic BNNUY02’s, researchers and others have been living there for over a year now. Some AW0005™ engineers are reportedly stationed there indefinitely to continue to assist with adding new buildings as the town grows.

Government

In 197VY shortly after the town was established, the AW0005™ company put a stand-in representative in charge of the town primarily as a point of contact for all involved parties. This lasted a little under a year, until the Digital Realm’s council came up for re-election, and it was decided that DigiTerra should have a representative - and mayor - of its own. 

From then on Digiterra has had an elected official handling it’s political needs, organizing committees, and coordination where needed, such as communication with Maple about the organization and hosting of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Culture

While Digiterra’s hasn’t been around for long, it has still developed a culture uniquely its own. As the meeting place between The Core and The Burrow its buildings, clothing, and overall aesthetic are an interesting blend of high tech and rustic living. Buildings were made using the models from The Core, but have been decorated and stylized manually by the BNNUY02 who have moved in and laid claim to them. The government buildings are especially eye-catching - tall towers of glinting metal that can be seen and navigated to from leagues away. More modern fabrics and materials brought over from The Core have then been used by BNNUY02 seamstresses in fashions from The Burrow.

The town has become known as a stopping place - many who come to stay there often find themselves in love with the other side enough to eventually move on. In this way the city has optimized itself for shorter term stay - most homes are owned by the government and rented out, and the town is often visited by Nomadic clans with wears, food, and entertainment for those staying there.
