The Core

The Core Region collectively refers to The City and Home Residence. The name didn't exist prior to 197VY when the existence of The Burrow necessitated a separate name for them to differentiate. 

Along the same lines many of the systems that were considered to apply to the entire Digital Realm now only apply to The Core itself, as The Burrow has many of its own, different established processes.

It is considered the primary home to the AW0001 AI subtype.

History, Today and Onwards

Much of the Core's history is equally considered the history of The Digital Realm itself. The initial building of The City, the construction of Home Residence, and the building of the community that AW0001s now inhabit. 

Since becoming a separate entity from The Burrow there have been many conversations between it's ruling council with the AW0005™ company about changes that may come moving forward - improvements that have been gleaned from the code making up The Burrow as well as adjustments in process (such as the council's own makeup talked about later in this article), about ways in which they may split processes such as record keeping to allow for deviation between the two regions.

Government

In 182VY The Digital Realm became a province of Purlieu with its own mayor and a 5 member council. In 197VY when The Burrow joined The Digital Realm, those 5 council members were relabeled as being representatives of The Core, while an additional 4 council members were added to be representatives for The Burrow. The Core's council, now hosts its own separate meetings for discussing matters closely related to The Core, and then shares their thoughts in group meetings with the Mayor and the Burrow's representatives.

Elections for The Core's representatives, held every year, are done via encrypted forms sent to each AW0005s CTRL where they are expected to select an option within a week or forfeit their vote. Nominees for the ballot are on a volunteer basis gathered approximately six months before the ballot. During those six months, nominees are asked to present themselves and their platforms on a designated internal resource made available to The Core's populace via their CTRLs.

Geography

All of the Core's landscape is based in varying degrees on Purlieu's own capital city, Parvenu. Sleeker, more modern, and changing at a much greater pace causes it to be hard to identify the similarities at all times however.

The City's structures evolve with its population. Certain apartment buildings appear to house more apartments than they should be capable of from the outside. Architecture shifts to better suit the current commercial residents of the street shops, and public transportation routes appear to seamlessly shift to the areas receiving the most traffic even between different days of the week. Even with some trickery though the city's space is limited, and the AW0005 engineers in charge of directing these never-ending changes have their work cut out for them.

Home Residence by comparison is an easier job - it's template is easily replicable, designed that way with the challenges of the city in mind, each house takes advantage of the same spacial algorithms as buildings in the city such that each one takes up the same amount of external room but the inside can be reconfigured to an individual AW0001s tastes. Coupled with yards on each of the homes, it does make for a longer commute into the city for those that live in the outer rims.

The Gates

The core has two gates that allow for travel to and from The Burrow. One of these gates is located in the inner rim of Home Residence, while the other is located at the top of AW0005™ Headquarters. The former is considered the 'public' gate with public transit stops nearby making it accessible for all AW0005. It is also the larger of the two gates, capable of having crowds pass through it at once, and even large vehicles. 

The gate at the top of AW0005 headquarters has been so far reserved for company use only, and it's primary known usage is to facilitate communications with members of The Burrow's government and to allow for greater access by AW0005™ engineers to continue their researching into The Burrow's software.
