Born and bred in Spring, Tony never really saw herself living anywhere else in the world. She loved the bunns, she loved the atmosphere, and she especially loved always being a hop and skip away from friends and family.
Once she got her first big person job working as a banker, she was a little sad to have to move out of her family home. But her parents were more than happy to have her move out on her own (not because they wanted her gone, they just wanted her to make her own friends outside of the family), and told her she was always welcome to come visit. And visit she did! Nearly every week she would come by for dinner and regale tales of the craziness she experienced at the bank. From the mundane older bunns who could spend an hour just shooting the breeze while withdrawing some pocket change, to the latest straw that sent her normally stoic looking boss into a complete frenzy, she never ran out of stories to tell.
Then once the craziness with the Gate appearing out of nowhere, and all the new beings popping out of it, she started telling new stories of explaining how things worked to these new friends called AW0005. The daily explanation of what a chime is; no, we don't have credits cards in the burrows. 'Tap and Pay' isn't a thing either, what is this 'Vinmoe' you keep talking about?? The next week she came with great news; her boss had asked her to come with him to travel through the Gates and meet with some fancy w0005 to discuss banking together! She told her parents all about how scary going through the gate for the first time was, and just how many /things/ there are on the other side.
From then on her talks were about all the new upgrades coming soon to the bank. How they were doing away with chimes and converting over the the core's system of credits. Some of the older clientele wasn't too happy about that, but her boss always tells them they can go to another bank, that always shuts them up. How they were working with AEIR to bring digital banking and instant payments to the burrows, and possibly opening up some new branches in other towns to help connect the other towns. Every week was a new amazing thing happening.
Then one day, many many months later, Tony came home with tears in her eyes and a hole in her heart. Her boss had told her they were opening up a new branch of the bank in Digiterra, the new town being built where the gates were. He wanted her to move there and take over running it, since she's been his de facto apprentice for years now. She didn't want to go, to leave her family behind. To her this was the worst news in the world, but her parents thought otherwise. They told her how this could be good for her! To grow on her own and experience the world as it changes around her. And with these newfangled technologies coming out of the gates, they can still communicate from time to time, it's not the end of the world. Their words cheered her up a little bit, but even as she packed and moved to the strange new area, she still felt apprehensive about her future.
Was she really cut out for this, to be put in charge of an entire bank by herself? Would she really be able to live so far away from her family?
Would she ever be able to make new friends in such a strange new place?
The answers to all her fears was a resounding yes, yes she's completely fine. Sinbad was there every step of the way helping to set up the bank and teach her the ropes. Her weekly visits to her parents turned into monthly (and she still has just as many stories as before). And she was able to make a new group of friends right off the bat. Didn't even take a week. She's fine and dandy living out her new live in a new town, running a new bank at her new fancy job. Life is good for Tony.
